Personal computer sales are doing even worse than expected, due to the ongoing shift to smartphones and tablets. With the flexibility of mobile devices, there is no longer an urgency to upgrade or replace computers. In the fourth quarter of 2015, for instance, PC shipments to the Asia-Pacific region declined by 1.5%. PC makers only managed to ship 26 million units. Other forces that are weighing against against PC sales are the economic slowdown in China and a strong US-dollar, which is making computers more expensive in Europe. #MergentInc #industryreports #informationtechnology
