According to US Energy Information Administration, 0.45 to 0.55 kilowatt hour (kWh) of electric energy is needed to produce per meter of fabric. Textiles manufacturing plants usually uses 659 trillion Btu of electricity input which easily makes the textiles industry one of the highest industry to omit greenhouse gases. This contributes to heightened global temperature and climate changes that adversely affect all living things.
